The Ultimate Hypocrisy

As the Democrats threaten to use the Nuclear option to force ObamaCare on the American people, the Drudgereport post today highlights the ultimate example of hypocrisy.

To be quite honest, I was shocked when I saw the video flashback.  While it is difficult to believe this level of hypocrisy exists, it is even more hard to swallow how self-serving the progressive liberal left has become.  It's all politics and they will do whatever is necessary to move their agenda forward.  Their approach, well, it just depends on the level of power they have at the time.

The video perfectly illustrates why honesty, trust, and respect are so important in our elected leaders.  I am shocked that I would even be shocked because on May 1st, 2009 during my announcment speech, I discuss the hypocrisy in government and some of the same characters show up in my examples.  I truly understand who these people are and I will fight them every step of the way to protect our liberties!

Lee Terry Announces Reelection Bid
Nebraska voters in the 2nd District are breaking hard for my candidacy which represents fiscal responsibility and the private sector...not special interests and the establishment.  Lee Terry has a fiscally liberal record and that is not playing well with the voters.

Lee Terry does not have to worry about being alone in the primary.  My campaign has been working non-stop since last April for the necessary votes to win the primary.  We are confident that we will have the necessary votes on May 11th to be a true conservative voice for the 2nd District.

My campaign will be making an announcement within the next 48 hours regarding the 'Signing Event' which will officially put our name on the ballot.  The 'Signing Event' will occur late this week and will include a policy speech that lays out a great vision for our Country.

The Spending Never Stops...So We Must Stop the Spenders

Last night I spoke to a group of about 80 committed conservatives that are worried about the future of our country.  One of the biggest worries I came across all summer and again last night is the 'out-of-control' deficit spending and our national debt.  There is a constant stream of news that contains additional spending initiatives.  The first five minutes of news I took in today is just a part of that constant stream.  But let's not just generalize a lack of fiscal discipline in our federal government.  More specifically, there is a lack of fiscal discipline from our representatives that represent us in the federal government.

Our debt currently stands at over $12 trillion dollars.  Our government representatives recently raised the debt limit to $14.3 trillion dollars, a rise of $1.9 trillion...and we will have to raise it again soon.  The democrats railed against President Bush for the deficits during his tenure, I do not hear the same cry now that we have quadrupled that mark.  We are spending at an unsustainable rate, is anyone in Washington worried about this?  Where are the rally cries for fiscal responsibility?

My First Five Minutes of News Today

Congressional Earmarks
In a time of historic deficits, is there a reason that we have almost $16 billion dollars of earmarks for the FY10, an apples to apples rise from about $15.6 in FY09?  No one in Washington can stop themselves.

The Banks Need Money Too
-President Obama proposes $30 billion dollar plan for community banks
-The FDIC will need $100 billion over 4 years to resolve failed banks

ObamaCare and Jobs Package
It sounds like Obama is now going to push his own health care plan and wants it passed in the next 60 days.  The plans before were approaching $1 trillion.  Obama also wants a job package passed worth probably another $80 billion plus.

I'm not even done reading the news for today.  But I feel as if I must stop and go back to work because I'll be paying for all this.  There will be no time to read the news.  The only way to stop the spending is to stop the spenders...vote them out!

Lee Terry Light on Detail and Cannot Answer the Hard Questions
To use a play on a familiar phrase, I voted against it before I voted for it!  Lee voted for the historical spending in the first TARP bill.  A handful of Republicans including Terry caved and ignored conservative principles.  Like Ben Nelson's critical vote to pass the health care bill in the Senate, Lee's vote was critical to passing the TARP.  Even more disturbing, Lee claims to have consulted Warren Buffet on the decision (remember that Warren Buffet was serving as an economic advisor to then presidential candidate Barack Obama!).  Lee should have consulted the voters of the 2nd district instead of the liberal Obama advisor.

In this interview, I do agree that 'Recovery.gov' is a smokescreen of inflated numbers and the stimulus has grown government.  But Terry claims that the jobs created by the stimulus should have been 2 or 3 times the 3800 supposed jobs created here in Nebraska.  In typical form, he leaves out any detail on how the Congress should have modified the stimulus bill to do this.  He only postures on how it should be better, but absolutely no detail.  So let's ask him how he could double or triple the effectiveness of the stimulus?  How come this is the first time we've heard that the stimulus is not effective?  How about that first bailout that you voted for?  It's easy to criticize, but just like the health care debate, 'a day late and billions of dollars short' Congressman Terry.  Terry also refuses to answer the question on whether or not Nebraska should have taken the stimulus money.

This pattern of dodging the hard questions after being elected to 6 terms in Congress is disturbing.  This is not strong leadership, this is a 'Washington' double-speak.

Maiden Blog

As the Maiden Blog, I would like to give 'Good-Luck' wishes to all of our Olympians in Vancouver this week.  I would also like to congratulate the UNO Hockey team sweep of the Michigan Wolverines!  I had the opportunity to take in the UNO vs Michigan game Saturday evening and they played flawlessly...the outcome was never in doubt.
